DFIT and mini-frac advisory — design, coordinate, interpret.

A DFIT is only useful if the pump schedule, isolation, falloff window, and gauges are designed for the question you will actually ask of the rock.

Independent

We design the test and pick who runs it. We do not sell separators or truck time.

Clean data package

Results packaged for decisions — not a chart dump from the lease.

Operators often order a mini-frac and receive a pressure file that cannot answer the completion question they thought they paid for. Closure, after-closure, and leakoff behaviour need a designed injection, a quiet falloff, and gauges that survive the well.

We write DFIT programs that match the decision — stress, permeability indication, or a frac-model calibration — then coordinate FBA / pump-down / isolation vendors so the test is not improvised on location. Interpretation is handed to partner PTA specialists against a defined scope; we do not pretend a field supervisor is a reservoir engineer.

If you already have a service company lined up, we still add value: injection volume and rate bounds, ISIP capture, falloff duration, H2S and pressure limits, and a data package that your completions team can defend.

  • Injection / falloff designed to the decision, not a default recipe
  • FBA, isolation, and gauge coordination
  • ISIP, closure, and after-closure data requirements written down
  • Partner PTA interpretation handoff — not a black-box PDF
  • Program outline within 1 business day

Welltest Advisory provides independent program design, vendor matching, coordination, and data-package support. Licensed service companies perform field work, operate equipment, and hold the relevant tickets. AER-aware language on this site is planning guidance, not legal, regulatory, or engineering stamp advice.

FAQ

Is a DFIT the same as a mini-frac?

People use the words interchangeably. We treat DFIT as a designed diagnostic injection and falloff. Mini-frac often means a small stim with leftover data. The program is different.

Do you interpret the DFIT in-house?

We scope the interpretation and hand it to partner PTA experts. You get a defined deliverable, not an unsigned chart dump.
