Appraisal tests exist to reduce a specific uncertainty. We write the program against that uncertainty, then match vendors who can collect the data.
Exploration and appraisal tests are not production tests with a longer flare. Fluid type, pressures, mobility, and a defensible go/no-go are the usual products. Duration, tool choice, and surface handling follow from that — they should not be copied from a development flowback.
We frame the uncertainties you are paying to reduce, pick DFIT / DST / flow / sampling combinations that can actually reduce them, and write a vendor-neutral scope. Partner interpretation is optional and scoped separately.
